Responsibilities

Fund Manager, Fixed Income

 

Manage fixed income investments across mutual funds, private funds, and provident funds. Perform due diligence on fixed income investments in accordance with the investment process to effectively execute the job to achieve target performance. Liaise with other departments for client meetings and marketing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Construct fixed income investment portfolios according to the investment objectives and limitation of client mandates and manage investments according to Principal’s investment philosophy and process.
  • Conduct investment analysis on macroeconomic conditions, make investment recommendations and take actions for the portfolios.
  • Conduct investment analysis on credits, make investment recommendations and take actions for the portfolios.
  • Prepare meeting presentations and other meeting materials that may be required.
  • Participate in client pitches, performance review meetings, and marketing events.
  • Perform other related tasks and special projects that may be required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience actively managing fixed income investment portfolios.
  • Knowledge of a variety of fixed income instruments.
  • Possessing business acumen, analytical abilities, and a total return mentality for trading and investments in fixed income.
  • Must be an analytical thinker and demonstrate an understanding of economic and investment theories.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Statistics, Econometrics, and/or Quantitative Analysis will have priority in consideration.
  • Fund Manager license is required.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder or a clear progress toward the designation is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Advanced Excel and PowerPoint is necessary.
  • Proficiency in programming skills such as VBA, MatLab, and Python is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to comfortably use English as a means of communication within a global company.
